It has never been easier to hold an answer you do not understand.
Culture programs us. So do the crowd, the screen, and the government — and now, most gently and most persuasively of all, so does AI. It will answer almost any question in a calm, confident voice, faster than any teacher or any book ever could. It is a marvel. It is also the newest thing that can quietly author your mind for you, without you ever noticing.
This book is about refusing to let it do that. I wrote it for my grandchildren and my college students alike, and it asks no coding of you. It walks you one honest step at a time, from geometry to Gödel to the machine itself, toward a single, unshakable idea: everyone is standing on something they cannot prove. The only question is what you are standing on.
It will not tell you what to think. It hands you back your own mind and dares you to honestly question every authority that would take it. Question me too. Where my own questions finally led me, I offer plainly, and never force it on you. The walking, and the choosing, stay yours.
This book is a companion volume to Mind Freedom. Original Intelligence takes you farther down the road on some of the thoughts in Mind Freedom. I wrote it in such a way that it stands on its own. You do not need to read Mind Freedom first to grasp what this book covers.

Short pieces, each one finished in itself. Read one with your coffee and ponder it the rest of the day. Read the next one next week. When one is just what somebody needs, pass it on.
This book touches on many topics including: why the chief way we are made in God’s image is not our creativity but our choice; why justice without mercy was never justice at all; why every culture stacks its values, and gets hurt doing it.
Original Intelligence takes some of the threads in this book and works them in an arc that walks you from the beginning of the thought to where it can be applied.
Enjoy the journey.
Music
My dear friends Rob & Wendy Jacobson write Scripture songs that have helped me to hide God’s word in my heart. They are free, so share them with whomever you like.
I’ve shared one on Wisdom here, but you can get more at their site JesusBibleSongs.com.
